What a lovely week and lots to share!
So last Friday was rather fabulous, the big day arrived and I decided to give in and take the day off! My studio is based next to the large Royal Victoria Park in Bath and luckily for me they set up a big screen and lots of yummy food stands only a two minute walk away. So a picnic was made and we took our places to wave our flags and drink tea all morning. Marvellous! What a dress! What beautiful ponies! Not at all disappointed and congratulations to the happy couple.
Further celebrating was to come in the afternoon as we set off for Padstow and their May day celebrations. It has become a bit of a tradition to camp in Dennis Cove, a matter of minutes from Rick Stein’s fish and chips, and spend the weekend building up to the mad day of celebrations ‘calling the ‘oss’. It was rather windy but that just made the union jack flags look better (see my breakfast time sketch of our tent above) and there were lots of VW vans for me to drool over whilst we battled the elements!
So it was back to Bath on Monday and it is proving to be a very busy week! A stockist where I used to work as a teen on Saturdays, Guildford House Galley, has just had a lovely re-vamp and they are now stocking my tableware as well as my cards. My delivery arrived yesterday in the gallery so if you are local go and check out their new look!

Also needing a boost of stock is the lovely Atelier gallery in Barnstaple. As I write my kiln is firing lots of bee and seaside stock for them.
Finally I am going to start promoting the Henley Arts Trail which takes place over the next Bank Holiday weekend. It is a great trail of venues (20+ places) and the quality of making is outstanding. There are plenty of demonstrations during the weekend and places to drink tea and eat cake whilst admiring your purchases. I will be showing my wares in the lovely Studio 17… check this venue out if you want to step into a house which should be in glossy, beautiful interiors magazines!

Finally I hope that you have been watching Britain’s Next Big Thing on BBC2! A few eagle eyed spotters may have seen my 3 seconds of fame in the first episode, waiting anxiously in the mile long queue at Liberty. Unfortunately the buyers were unable to negotiate a good enough profit margin for my butterflies but… the amazing Charlotte Sale had her glass ‘splash’ bowls accepted for Liberty! She is a friend of mine and very talented. Recently her work has been nominated for a prestigious prize by Tiffany Glas Kunst and voting by the public is now available. If you could spare a minute of your time please vote for her lovely work via this link
You just need to enter your email (ignore all the German and read the bit on the left in English) then her work is about half way down the page on the right - just click the dot to vote!
Have a lovely time in the sunshine… and enjoy that first Pimms!
