We all all know someone with a chicken or a fondness for this characterful bird. I decided to draw a whole range of chickens that are popularly kept in the UK from Bantams, Leghorns and Orpingtons to Rhode Island Reds, Sussex, Cream Legbar and the distinctive Wyandotte. Pecking and scratching their way around our china. The majority of these ladies were captured on a trip to the local city farm, and very curious about Julia's pencils they were too! Roaming very freely from the coop they pop out from the hedgerow or a little bush unexpectedly, clucking away. Take a peek in the bottom of your jug and you will find a chicken hiding at the bottom there too.
