Dark peak mug, a wheel-thrown ceramic mug made using a speckled stoneware clay inspired by the mountains that surround potter Bel Holland’s pottery studio.
The listing is for a single mug and the capacity to the rim of the mugs is approximately 350ml so they are perfect for a good sized tea or coffee at any time of the day!

Glazed in ‘Carduelis’, a creamy speckle overlapped with 'Midnight Granite' a dark Prussian blue with a black speckle.
Bel makes everything in her studio in the beautiful Peak District. The pieces are thrown on the wheel, trimmed and fired to bisque in the kiln to 1000 degrees. The pieces are glazed before firing them again to 1250 degrees. The process can take up to 3 weeks and every item is small batch and unique.

Bel was born and raised in the beautiful Peak District which is a constant pool of inspiration for her.
She studied Fine Art in London and Manchester where Bel worked using various mediums including painting and sculpture until settling into working with clay and ceramics - and teaching herself to throw on the wheel.
