Stocking Filler Seeds by Grace Alexandra

Just need that little something? A gift to go by each plate at the family Christmas table? An extra special present to go in the hard-to-impress mother-in-law's stocking? A thank you for the neighbours and they don't like champagne? No sellotape or gift wrapping required.

The stocking filler seeds come in sets of five, chosen at random from my seed boxes. Guaranteed to include at least three flowers as well as foliage. Probably one Fata Morgana scabious in each, as Grace had a bumper crop of that this summer.

Grace Alexander Flowers is a business based on the Slow Flower movement, emerging out of a love for gardens, countryside and ground. The sowing of a seed is a primitive and primal joy. Putting a plant in the ground and expecting to be there when it bloomed, fruited or swelled was a turning point in human evolution, and the start of home. Her flower field and her home are one. Many of her photographs are taken in her home or her potting shed studio, and she is often found eating, pottering or harvesting in the field.

Grace has a greenhouse but she grows without polytunnels or artificial heat. When the flowers are ready, they flower. She grows as much as possible without chemicals but will use them if the health of the plant would be compromised without .

The seeds that she doesn't grow herself are sourced from the best UK based wholesale suppliers to guarantee quality and responsible sourcing. The Khadi envelopes she uses for the seed packaging are not only the most beautiful papers she has ever seen, but they support responsible agriculture and business in India. The cotton rag Khadi uses comes from T-shirt cuttings, a reliable and sustainable source of pure woven cotton.
