Cambridge Imprint Slim Exercise Books are modelled on old-fashioned school exercise books. They have covers of heavy, 170 gsm patterned paper, without any text or logo, and inside there are forty pages of plain 90gsm ivory paper and a discreet Cambridge Imprint stamp on the inside back cover.
Each book measures 170 x 213 mm. They are a perfect size for a small project: for writing a story or keeping a diary. The slimness of the book makes finishing it completely an achievable goal.
Charleston Roundel is one of three patterns designed by Cambridge Imprint in 2019 for the Charleston Trust. Charleston was the Sussex farmhouse of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, and frequently served as temporary home to other members of their Bloomsbury circle during the first half of the twentieth century. The house is filled with the paintings and sculptures of the two artists, but Bell and Grant also decorated every surface of the house, the walls, doors, and furniture. Even the rugs, lampshades, bowls and plates were of their own devising. This pattern aims to conjure the glorious colour and painterly exuberance of the Charleston interiors.
